Dear White People that I know,

I just watched former President Trump's press conference with the National Association of Black Journalist. I have also followed his words and actions this campaign season. I know there is too large of a percentage of people black, brown, red, yellow, white, and indifferent who we can expect to vote based on the wind or some other thoughtless reason, that's just the nature of the beast. My question to you is, what is your true reason for supporting Trump if you do? Does his overtly racist rhetoric do anything to your heart? What about your soul? If former President Obama said that he grabs women by the p*ussy would you consider voting for him if you agreed with his politics? Do you really think his immigration strategy is humane, fair, or even rational? Is Democracy really a thing to you? Since I know you,

I'm wondering if you lost your humanity, or ever had it. Since I know you, I wonder if you care that people that you went to school with, played ball with, explored life with on a human level are suffering deeply over the racial tidal wave at the root of Project 2025 and Trump's agenda. The truth is, your people, collectively speaking, have not showed much humanity since the founding of this nation. Ask the indigenous people whose land you occupy and whose people you decimated. Ask the former slaves who you continue to suppress, oppress, patronize and dismiss except that there are expressions of patronizarion that are echoed in your words and Trumps words, "I love black people." Srop white people. Just stop. Just admit that you are now at the point in America's evolution/devolution where the late Dr. Frances Cress Welsing of the same Howard University that molded Kamala Harris, said that white people fear "white genetic annihilation," some Republicans agree and call it "replacement," aka, "diversity, equity, and inclusion," aka, "wokeness," aka critical race theory. Just admit that the demographic shift that has taken place in this country that has literally changed the face of America, has many otherwise "good" white people that I grew up with, went to school with, work with, work for, believing that a racist president is their only hope. I love my hometown of Charlottesville, VA. After the terrorist attack there that led to the unfortunate death of Heather Heyer and fractured and entire city and nation, I bring this place front and center to drive home my point. The great American hero Thomas Jefferson, wrote in his, Notes on the State of Virginia when talking about this "black problem":

"Indeed I tremble for my country when reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever: that considering numbers, nature and natural means only, a revolution of the wheel of fortune, an exchange of situation, is among possible events: that it may become probable by supernatural interference!"

So, white people I know, I suggest you check your ego, check your paranoia, check your anxiety, and don't let fear guide your humanity, you'd be better better off listening to one of America's greatest thinkers and scholars, Thomas Jefferson, and be on the side of God's justice. If not, this kingdom has been "weighed in the balances and found wanting." Thomas Jefferson mentioned supernatural interference...since you like us black folks and our clever sayings, here's one..."your arms are too short to box with God."

Sincerely,

Your Classmate, Your Teammate, Your Neighbor, Your "black friend."
